POSITION FUNCTIONManages the iSeries systems including all partitions and HMC’s. in various computer facilities. Emphasis placed on maintaining production availability. Under minimal supervision performs daily maintenance generally semi-routine or diversified duties requiring judgments in the application of broader aspects of departmental policy, goals, and procedures ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1. Perform IBM iSeries Administration - system installs, PTF deployment, software installation, configuration, custom development, and security2. Monitor the operation and communication of the core iSeries system and tunes system parameters for optimum performance.3. Maintains a flexible schedule to accomplish tasks.4. Performs setup, installation and training of new equipment.5. Troubleshoots AS/400 hardware.6. Provides technical assistance to other members of IT. 7. Researches and recommends architecture layout and design for IBMs iSeries computing platform to ensure availability, reliability, and recover-ability.8. Develops System standards and writes maintenance procedures to ensure proper change management policies are followed for all system maintenance and upgrades. 9. Maintains and monitors statistics on the efficiency of System software and hardware. Participates in the monitoring and evaluation of the data center capacity for hardware and software.10. Participates in hardware and software selection; discusses resource utilization with Application Development when considering implementation of new systems.11. Maintains core systems Disaster Recovery readiness and participates in any scheduled or unscheduled recovery efforts. 12. Maintains the operating system and Installs all PTF’S and system upgrades.13. Cross-train in other technical systems functions.14. Monitors maintains and optimizes computer systems including but not limited to the core iSeries host through system and software parameter changes, resource tuning and code automation.

Reports To (Title): VP Systems and Application SupportESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1. Completes compliance training and adheres to all anti-money laundering and other compliance guidelines and procedures.2. Supervises the computer room operations, establishes schedules and priorities for the operations personnel and directs their activities for 24 hour shifts. 3. Develops Operations department standards and procedures and enforces data processing standards and policy as they relate to the operations environment4. Maintains and monitors statistics on the efficiency of hardware operations. Participates in the monitoring and evaluation of the data center capacity, and computer hardware and software planning.5. Implements a standard of NO REPEAT audit findings6. Implements regularly scheduled one on one session for all direct reports.7. Minimize resource overtime by filling in for operators when they are on PTO, approximately 3 months per year. Two weekends per month you will need to fill in for operators if they are scheduled to work the full save or file reorg’s. 8. Manage the implementation of recommendations for nightly processing.9. Mentors staff in respective areas to improve competencies in job functions.10. Interacts with other IT areas to ensure we act as a team when solving problems.11. Participates in hardware and software selection; discusses resource utilization with Application Development when considering implementation of new systems.12. Leads Disaster Recovery Team and maintains documentation for the iSeries. 13. Maintains the operating system and Installs all PTF’S and system upgrades.14. Monitors maintains and optimizes computer systems including but not limited to the core iSeries host through system and software parameter changes, resource tuning and code automation.
