I am now retired.I took early retirement in 2009 from the London Borough of Enfield where I was employed as the head of waste services and in my career in local government I have undertaken posts at Assistant Director Level in a large London Borough. I have considerable experience of creating improvement by driving performance especially in relation to exceeding the standards set by the Audit Commission. I am well prepared for new posts and know I can bring benefits to any organisation. I pride myself on my ability to listen and hear what customers need and my experience gives me the ability to deliver continuous improvement to front facing customer services through working with teams in the organisation, with partners and external agencies. I have a personal commitment to involving the users of services and delivering value for money for the community. I apply best practice in managing the reputation of my organisation and develop compelling communications about the successes of services. I believe I can bring significant improvements to an organisation on its journey to becoming an Excellent or to assisting an excellent authority remain as a market leader.I am an experienced and strong leader with a varied public sector background in operational and strategic management. I am a persuasive communicator, able to build productive working relationships in sensitive, potentially adversarial environments. I am enthusiastic, flexible and conscientious. I have a desire to ‘make a difference’ in the work I undertake. I have endeavoured to continually develop my leadership skills and expertise, both by broadening the range of work I engage in, and by regular attendance at senior level conferences and seminars. I created a successful career as an interim manager, where I managed to set up systems and identify efficiency savings and led on an Olympics operations plan. Also led on developing new specifications until my retirement in 2016
