My background and interests focus on a line of inquiry centered on the experience of children in the child welfare system and how to leverage existing administrative data systems to improve policy and practice. I am particularly interested in examining the pathways into and through the child serving systems focusing on opportunities for state systems to understand service overlaps, improve overall service delivery and address the multiple needs of the children and families involved with these systems. I am currently the Principal Investigator on a statewide evaluation of the efficiency and effectiveness of child welfare services with a strong focus on using child welfare administrative data to inform decisions, the Principal Investigator on a Multiagency data linking project known as LINKs that is enhancing our capacity to examine cross system needs of children in Maryland, and I am actively engaged in a number of other administrative data related projects with the state and at the University. I have expertise in advanced statistical methods and extensive experience utilizing longitudinal data systems to answer questions related to service outcomes and to inform policy.
