I am privileged to be the executive office associate to the superintendent of one of Virginia's best public school divisions. I started as a bookkeeper in a school and worked up through a few offices and positions. Prior to my current position, I worked in the Department of School Leadership for almost 16 years with various senior level administrators--chief schools officer, assistant superintendents and directors.The job responsibilities are numerous and always changing. Some days, a large amount of time is handling customer service needs with parent and citizen concerns. A great deal of knowledge about the school division and the policies and protocols are essential to providing the best service possible. I have developed strong communication skills (written and spoken) and listening skills in the goal to provide quality customer service. A strong proficiency in using technology and the initiative to learn new systems enables me to be organized in a busy office. Other key skills developed in the positions I have held include problem solving, time management, and project management.
