I work as an (O&M Tech IV) & (O&M Tech III) for DTE Energy Co. in the Woodland California power plant biomass facility. I’m versed in power plant safety policies and procedures related in the areas of high-energy systems, chemical handling, heavy equipment, rotating machinery, incipient fire suppression, and first aid. I am responsible during my shift for all personnel and equipment involved in the safe and efficient production of steam and electricity. I lead in the coordination, monitoring, and controlling all on-shift operations. As the lead operator on duty, I have the responsibility and authority to take whatever action necessary to protect people, environment and equipment. I assist the Operations Manager & Lead O&M Tech with administrative documents, generating reports, and initiates action to replenish consumables. I also assist the maintenance supervisor in submitting work requests, PM maintenance orders, housekeeping duties, and material service requests into Mainsaver or CMMS system. I have extensive experience with plant shutdown maintenance operations related to planning, loto, safe work permits, and confined space entry activities. I oversee all station operations, including startup, shutdown, inspection, routine chemical testing, all 13.8KV, 4160-volt, 480-volt motor switching and tagging, and equipment trouble-shooting. I have the ability and knowledge of the fundamental principles related to physics, mathematics, AC and DC electrical theory, chemistry, water treatment process, thermal dynamics, heat transfer, and fluid flowI worked as the Facilities Supervisor for Yara North America in the West Sacramento Terminal facility and manage 8-10 reports under me for the past 7 years. I was accountable for optimizing my group with adequate manpower, training, and communication to ensure the facility is operating in a safe and responsible manner. My goal is to manage the daily operation of the facility as measured by key performance indicators. I also conducted safety training, on-the-job training, and new employee training including safety orientations for contractors. I supervised the review of standard operating procedures, and risk assessments in the entire facility, and provide improvement opportunities as well as implement improvements within a sphere of influence and control. I was also responsible for reviewing and submitting weekly timecards, completing daily orders, and submitting daily inventory reports to the corporation. I was involved in capital & expense budgets throughout the terminal.
