Spent the first 58 years of my life in Maine, then 13 in New Hampshire, and now reside in Ocala, Florida.Have a B.A. in radio broadcasting at the University of Maine and an M.A. in broadcast journalism at Indiana University. Have been in radio and TV sportscasting, public relations, and in driver and traffic safety. When I "retired" in 2007, I embarked on writing a biography of Don Holleder, All-American football player at West Point, who turned down Vince Lombardi and the New York Football Giants to serve in the Army. He volunteered to go to Vietnam and was killed attempting to rescue a number of men trapped in an ambush. I discovered that the ambush was due to poor planning and that the military attempted to cover up the blunder by lying to the media. The media quickly realized the ploy and never really trusted the military again. This mistrust was passed on to the American public, which lost confidence in U.S. presence in Vietnam. My book, "A Spartan Game," explains this in detail.
