I am also a senior fellow at the National Center for Energy Analytics where I research and write about energy policy, with a focus on fact- and science-based decision making. I was a NASA astronaut who flew on the Space Shuttle as well as Russian Soyuz, spending over seven months in space, including as commander of the ISS. Before this I was a USAF F-16 pilot and test pilot. I am also developing several TV and film projects, and have authored multiple books, including a reproduction of the Apollo 11 flight plan, The Astronaut's Guide to Leaving the Planet (children's book), How to Astronaut, and National Geographic's View From Above. I am a guest lecturer at Harvard Business School and the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Finally, I serve on several boards.
