In this position, I operated the Mainframe Computer system in support of the entire base (Homestead Air Force Base, Homestead, FL) for approximately one year. In addition, it was used for payroll for all personnel assigned to HAFB, including printing paychecks. The duration of my tour at HAFB and my subsequent tour at Suwon Air Base, Suwon, South Korea, I worked in the Communications Center which was a secure area handling all incoming and outgoing message traffic for the base. This included timely delivery of high priority, classified information to the appropriate individual/organization, as well as daily re-encryption of the messaging devices. Because of the nature of the work required, I maintained a Top Secret security clearance for the duration.
