* Held a series of senior leadership positions at the CFTC, including Acting General Counsel as well as Acting Chief Counsel in the Division of Enforcement. * Served most recently as Deputy General Counsel for Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs, working extensively on the derivatives reform legislation enacted as part of the Dodd-Frank Act. * Provided technical assistance to CFTC Commissioners, the Treasury Department, and Congressional Committees and Members' Offices on all aspects of the legislation applicable to the CFTC. * Provided legal counsel on a number of CFTC rulemakings, interpretive guidance releases, and staff actions in the implementation of the Dodd-Frank swap regulatory regime, including the CFTC's Entity and Product Definitions (issued jointly with the SEC), as well as the CFTC's application of Dodd-Frank to Cross-Border Swap Activities. * Coordinated closely on issues of mutual interest with counterparts at other Federal financial regulatory agencies, such as the development of anti-money laundering requirements for financial institutions with FinCEN; issues relating to foreign currency trading with the OCC and the Federal Reserve Board; and the treatment of novel, hybrid financial products with the SEC.* Prior positions at CFTC included: * CFTC's Acting General Counsel during 2007-2009; * Legal Counsel to CFTC Chairman Reuben Jeffery III during 2005-2006 and Commissioner Mark P. Wetjen during 2012; * Trial Attorney in the Enforcement Division, investigating and prosecuting a variety of violations of the CEA; and * Acting Chief Counsel for the Enforcement Division, facilitating the coordination of CFTC enforcement efforts with those of regulatory authorities overseas.
