San Antonio, Tx - Chiller Manufacturing Plant (Now JCI) Singularly responsible for all aspects of AS/400 environment including :- System management and maintenance- Complete integration with MAPICS manufacturing software.- Code conversion from Sys/36 mode to native AS/400- Wrote several systems with hundreds of RPG/400 programs, most of them interfacing with MAPICS. Because of flexiblity built into the design, most of these are still in use in 2010. - Wrote large number of queries and provided instruction to users to self build their own queries as needed.- Made all programs and queries Y2K ready.- Performed operating system upgrades & MAPICS release upgrades.

- System 36, RPG – Hospital Systems (Patient Billing)- System 36, Cobol - Appraisal System (Converted from Prime Cobol to System 36 Cobol). Because of program size limit of 64K and total system memory of 256K, this required substantial redesign resulting in a driver program and 12 additional programs called by the driver as needed. These had extensive use of memory overlays and temp files to hold and pass user data between programs. The resulting system allowed several users, using multiple requester technique, to use this system simultaneously despite the apparent impossibility due to memory restraints.
