In my role as a Managing Partner at Boes and Boes Training Consultants, I consulted for various projects globally, including evaluating and revising emergency operations plans for major companies in the oil and uranium enrichment industries as well as local, state and federal organizations. I also delivered FEMA EMI train-the-trainer courses and completed NFPA fire certification training for over 500 participants from 20 countries.

Direct all supervisory and developmental aspects of response policies for newly instituted fire department. Responsible for safety inspections of various facilities in oil and gas fields including gas compressor stations, gas and oil wells, separator processes, pipelines, and tank farm storage of large quantities of crude oil with some of the world’s highest hydrogen sulfide concentrations. Conduct internal safety audits and oversight of high-risk activities.KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:• Successfully carried out regular safety induction of new employees.• Initiated development of Emergency Operations Center equipment and stand-up procedures.• Successfully facilitated training for employees on the use of Incident Management System.• Made crucial updates for the company’s Facility Response Plans.• Certified by company in Maintenance Planning and Scheduling.• Successfully expedited the implementation of fire protection system inspection procedures and NFPA-compliant training system.

Directed all aspects of development and implementation of the company’s safety program via training and record keeping. Started as Project Manager and was named the company’s first National Field Trainer.KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:• Played a key role in the design and implementation of hiring processes, safety procedures, working schedules, and pay scales for project managers in newly opened offices. • Improved financial efficiency by collaborating with company owner and senior executives to consolidate roles and responsibilities for project managers nationwide and incorporate appropriate pay scales.• Effectively ensured compliance with state, local, and OSHA codes and regulations. • Successfully facilitated top performance in company sales for each new office opened. • Limited incidence of injury to just one in two years’ time.

Directed all aspects of weekly and monthly safety briefings with senior management and US Army staff, including near misses and updates on after actions from previous reports. Responsible for writing after action plans, and assigning and following up on after action duties. Liaised with local Kuwait Civil Defense and Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) to organize and arrange for mutual aid response planning and joint training exercises. Served as hazardous materials team incident command and instructor.KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:• Successfully spearheaded the implementation of NFPA 1500 program and AR 6055 compliance.• Improved training compliance from 29% to 94% in two years. • Achieved a 100% passing rate for both internal and external safety audits.

Responsible for responding to fires, accidents, and other incidents involving risks to life and property. Served as shift instructor and Recruit Academy guest instructor, state fire school instructor, and FDIC assistant instructor. Appointed as chairman of joint labor/management safety committee for two years. KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:• Promoted to the rank of Captain in six years.• Voted as IAFF local #124 Vice President.• Developed the SOP for fire fighter mayday policy later adapted by the city government for the fire department use.• Earned distinction as Northeast Indiana Hazardous Materials Regional Response Group team leader for six years.• Published several instructional articles in national trade magazines
