I ran the Multimedia Production department at Videotel, a world leader in distance learning and training services. As the leader of the content development teams, I am responsible for ensuring that Videotel continues to provide accurate and relevant computer-based training material that satisfies our customer’s need for technical, legislative and soft-skills course material.My role included the project management of new courses from setting up working groups of SMEs, managing the pre-production process from inception to “production ready”, through to taking the finished script and conducting a review from an instructional design perspective and adding value to the learner experience. I then manage the production, quality check, testing and release stages. I did this with the help 11 Multimedia Developers spread over three teams based in London, Delhi and Manilla.A large part of my role is managing the bespoke content for high profile, FTSE 100 companies like ExxonMobil or the IMO (part of the United Nations) where I pitch for work, meet with the client, capture requirements and manage the project, again through all stages of the production process.Responsibilities include;• Line management (1 in London, 7 based in Delhi and 2 based in Manilla).• Script development with Subject Matter Experts.• Project management.• Learning design.• Client management on B2B bespoke content requests.• Quality assurance and testing.• Media creation and development (illustration, photo, video and audio editing).• Client pitches and presentations.• Research and development (including VR).• Development of high-profile content.
