I am a curious, passionate, lifelong learner looking to transition into a position in the research field. My career objective is to find a position where I’m using my existing skills and competencies, learning new ones, and learning about and helping shape the world around me. Having been exposed to qualitative research methods during my PhD, I very recently completed a certificate in Data Analytics, Big Data and Predictive Analytics from Ryerson University, equipping me with quantitative and statistical research skills.I have worked at the Ontario Arts Council for almost 8 years in mostly administrative positions, but was seconded for two years into a technical/analytical role at the heart of an organization-changing project: the design and implementation of OAC’s internal grants tracking system. Having quickly learned how to configure the software despite no technical training whatsoever, I was seconded into the position of Nova Configuration Specialist, wherein I successfully architected and configured new system functionality, wrote standard reports used to this day by staff, and played an integral role in the migration of OAC’s data into its new database.I am passionate about history, art, and heritage. When I’m not at work or studying, you’ll find me working on private history projects, reading a book or watching a movie, at an art gallery or at the theatre, or volunteering for the Hellenic History Foundation or Heritage Toronto.I would love to connect for networking or in regards to job opportunities.Summary of Qualifications:*Almost 8 years’ public sector experience in administrative, technical and analytical positions*Social Science PhD and Certificate in Data Analytics, Big Data, and Predictive Analytics*Strong fundamentals in: statistical analysis, data modeling, data and database management, data processing, data visualization, machine learning*Knowledge of the following languages/tools: MS Excel, Python, R, SQL, Hadoop (Hive + Pig), Spark, Tableau, Power BI*Strong written and oral communicator; certified bilingual in English and French
