Directs and coordinates activities of Cast Co-Extrusion production department in processing materials or manufacturing products. Job Duties:• Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations• Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products• Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications• Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs, identify cost saving opportunities, and prevent operational delays• Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards• Strive to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines• Set ambitious production goals and communicate them to key personnel• Provide motivation, support and guidance to all employees• Communicate any problems or obstacles to senior management• Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product safety or integrity• Drive the continuous improvement process and system, and implement programs that will have continuing long-term benefits• Implement 5S throughout the plant and oversee the auditing• Back up to Plant Manager as needed

Operations Manager of startup sheet extrusion facility. Responsible for complete startup of facility including installation of all machines. Coordinating projects and scheduling of contractors. Reviewing process and adjusting against scheduled timelines. Developing SOP’s, work instructions, and overall production processes as facility and work centers are installed and tested. Responsible for purchasing of materials, scheduling of production lines, and all personnel on multiple shifts. Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and reporting KPI’s and overall production reporting. Responsible for hiring and training of all key positions and building a multi-shift facility from a start-up.

Manager of a team consisting of Production Mgr., four Assistant Mgr., two supervisors and 180-205 employees, 1 shift, over multiple departments. Responsible for production, planting, sleeving, boxing departments, and secondary growing operations. Responsible for scheduling, quality, training, safety, and discipline and record keeping for all employees. Responsible for departmental budgets, reporting of production, machine efficiencies, labor budget, and work cell capacities. Incorporation of reporting & KPI’s.Increased efficiencies of work cells each month managing the multiple departments and exceeding company goals. Increased rates 10–15%, due to establishing a “Best Operating Practice” and SOP Systems. Reduction in scrap in all areas by incorporating better tracking and steps to correct scrap issues.

Supervised 75-85 employees, 4 shifts, 2 departments. Responsible for extrusion and off-line departments. Responsible for production scheduling, quality, and regrind usage. Responsible for training, safety, and discipline and record keeping for all employees. Also responsible for monthly reporting of production, machine efficiencies and capacities. Increased rates 15–20%, by developing & establishing a “Best Operating Practice” and SOP Systems.

Supervised 140 employees, 2 departments. Extrusion and fabrication departments. Responsible for production scheduling, quality, and scrap usage. Also responsible for monthly reporting of production, machine efficiencies and capacities. Dropped scrap in facility by 200,000 pounds, and over $250,000. Trained work force and started 5S implementation. Put in place SOP’s and gave some structure to extrusion processes.

Supervised 50 people including operators, fabrication and forming, shipping and receiving. Responsible for scheduling, meeting production schedules and keeping up with releases from customer in an automotive supplier level. Plant was ISO 9000, and I was an internal auditor for the facility. Responsible for quality in extrusion and fabrication departments. Lowered scrap $150,000 and over 100,000 pounds. Set up entire SOP system and tooling program to organize and increase efficiencies 20%. Set up many metrics to improve organization, accountability, and reporting.
