I’ve had two roles in Cochlear as a Production Engineer, the first was production support at Macquarie for day-to-day activities in the factory, but I was also involved in larger projects where root cause analysis was required before or after an NCR was raised to fix a reoccurring issue.Cochlear is always growing, in the new 5-year plan there was a need to restructure the Production Engineering group to split out core tasks and create more specialised groups to focus on supporting the business. This is when my second role started, in the Lean Factory Setup group. My primary focus was to analyse equipment capacity, across Macquarie and Lane Cove sites, purchase additional equipment and work within my team to establish new factory layouts or improve existing layouts.
