With an extensive history of working within the design industry, my strengths lie predominately within the retail and hospitality sector. In recent years through embracing new roles in the wellness, healthcare and residential sectors, as well as working on projects of increasing size and budget for Retail Centre’s and Public spaces, I have developed real time experience in Place making and Landscape design, as well as design management in Lead design roles.Whether commercial, retail or public environment, good interior design not only establishes a coherent narrative and creative vision through drawing on elements of structural architecture, environmental psychology and physical aesthetics to strategically direct the way users experience the space and connect with the brand, but also needs to be holistic in design, considerate of its impact on the greater environment and be sustainable throughout and beyond its lifespan. Any proposal needs to be developed in collaboration with the client, ensuring it meets their needs and business aspirations, ultimately promoting growth and asset realisation, strengthening and supporting their brand and its presence. With the challenges in the retail industry changing tangibly over recent years, prompting a growth of new agile and innovative approaches to creating experiences, a designer today not only needs to be experienced within their own industry, but needs to be continually drawing inspiration and developing new design strategies from outside their design field, looking to other industries and beyond.
