The Sanitation department was in the planning stages of charging for garbage collection in the city of Cincinnati. • The Field Auditor’s duty was to go door to door to verify addresses, using a handheld computer, in order to build a more accurate database. • My personal average was around 300 addresses per day. In a two man team our best address count for a given day was 893 addresses. • As the senior member of the group I was asked to investigate one of the other teams that seemed to be slacking in their duties. By re-verifying their data I was able to prove that they were not going out into the streets as the job required. I was able to do this discretely and keep the results confidential. • I was also asked to create a database, using Excel, and enter 4600 records into it for the Graffiti Removal department.

Participated in the 2010 Decennial Census which calls for an actual enumeration of the people every ten years, to be used for apportionment of seats in the House of Representatives among the states. • The 2010 assignment was to gather information from off-campus students around Miami University that did not return their Census forms and to find and gather information on homeless people in and around Hamilton Ohio. Also worked in the office to verify and correct forms as they came in from the field. • The 2009 assignment was to go door to door to verify addresses to prepare for the 2010 Census and to take a GPS spot to update the GPS mapping system. The data was collected and transmitted on a handheld computer with Windows XP. My daily average consistently exceeded the Cincinnati average of 19.2 addresses/hour. My best average for a given day was 46.1 addresses/hour. I also had an occasion where the map on the handheld computer did not match the actual street layout and I was able to delete the incorrect parts and draw in the correct part using the GPS coordinates on the handheld computer. The project was to last six weeks, our team was able to complete the project in four weeks.

Primary on-call responsibilities for nightly systems in immediate and secondary areas.Created detail tax reports substantiating summary tax reports, and including balancing totals, for two Kentucky municipalities.Maintained a monthly system that created files to be loaded into DB2 tables by the DBA'sRan several jobs manually, automated these jobs saving approximately 10 hours each month.Difficulty balancing monthly testing, created reports that balanced between input spreadsheets and output mainframe reports, saving time and greatly improving accuracy in three departments.Part of team testing new releases of packaged software such as PRO/JCL and ChangeMan.Purchasing company required documentation of all systems, created flowchart and narrative for majority of jobs in 16 systems plus overall flowchart tying all systems and databases together.Created brochure of PC shortcuts, increasing department productivity and efficiency.

The accounts were being kept manually in ledger books, after taking classes on Computerized Accounting was able to convert to a computerized accounting system using QuickBooks.The offering money was being counted by the same two people every week, established counting teams and counting & deposit procedures, each team member only had to count once per month following documented procedures.The offering money was being left on the secretary’s desk until the end of the service, created a locked drop box through a workroom wall, offering was kept behind locked doors until the counting team could deal with it.Reports were very minimal and did not convey much information, created an eight page report using an Excel spreadsheet that was published every month, also created Power Point presentations for the annual congregational meeting, the congregation was better informed of the financial condition of the church.Ministers have special IRS withholding & tax rules, was able to research these rules and adjust payroll procedures accordingly. Also handled monthly and quarterly submissions to the IRS.

Designed electrical schematic diagrams for Lathes, Press Brakes and Metal Shearing machine tools. For a new machine line, Turn-a-cut, was part of the design team and supervised production and testing. Also supervised installation & maintenance at customer’s plants.
