- Implementing software engineering practices in an applied R&D environment.- AI R&D for imaging and audio technologies- Lead architect and product owner of the Neural Network simulation engine used by my team for all machine learning R&D tasks. Built in Python using the PyTorch framework; implementing robust data pipelines; supporting a wide range of neural network tasks and use cases; integrating tools for reporting and analysis; remote GPU execution of experiments; porting neural network solutions to proprietary embedded neural hardware. Enforcing software quality using PyLint, MyPy and Sphinx. - Developing AI and applications for a government-funded R&D project to create a smart toy for children, using Perceive’s Ergo AI processor. Computer vision for visual interaction, audio ML for speech interaction. Managed team-members developing games and proof-of-concept interactions with the toy.- Part of the team that developed the Face ID feature for the LG G8 ThinQ phone. I delivered the Convolutional Neural Networks that were the core of the Facial Recognition technology.- Research into using 3D facial data for Neural Network tasks and synthetic data generation.- Interviewing, hiring and managing new employees and interns. I provided Application Lifecycle Management consultation for a team of engineers developing medical software in an ISO13485 certified environment. In this role, I have installed and administered a TeamCity server for software build automation, and implemented a Continuous Integration build workflow using TeamCity, Perforce version control, and Slack for reporting. I have also worked on test automation engineering using Ranorex Studio and C# scripting to develop a suite of automated system tests.

I worked as a member of the Enterprise Solutions practice to develop bespoke software solutions for customers using Microsoft technologies. As part of this role, I gained expertise in enterprise web development, Team Foundation Server administration, Version Control, Continuous Integration, Agile methodologies, and Application Lifecycle Management, and sat exams to receive Microsoft certification in this area.I developed, maintained and provided consultation on a solution for an international client using the Team Foundation Server API, Windows Services and the Entity Framework. This included maintaining product requirements and bug lists, creating documentation, holding knowledge-sharing sessions with customers, and ongoing customer feedback and consultation. I worked with a team to create an enterprise web application for an aviation industry client. This solution was implemented using ASP .Net MVC, JavaScript, JQuery, KNockoutJS, Kendo UI Bootstrap and Entity Framework. The team followed Agile practices, and worked regularly with clients and third-parties to integrate the solution into their workflow.
