Hi! My name is Terry Manrique and I’m a mom of 3 grown kids, 2 grandbabies, and I have been married for 25 years.My story started out like many of you. I was young, in love, and ready to start a future together with the man I was dating for 3 years. Except it all started a lot sooner than we planned. I got pregnant one year too early and in the middle of a long-distance relationship with my (now) husband. So, when our baby was born in January, I was raising her on my own for 5 months until my husband graduated from college.In May, my husband graduated from school, and in June we got married. The pressure of raising a family, planning a wedding, and living together with my soon-to-be husband was a lot.Within the first year of our marriage, we went to marriage counseling, had lots of heated arguments about laundry, dishes, cleaning, sex, or watching the baby…you name it, we argued about it! Does it sound familiar?I also found myself repeating the same old generational patterns I’ve seen my parents use on me growing up, and from observing how they treated each other as husband and wife. This was no longer serving me and my family, and I knew we could do better.I found a better way to parent with my kids and to develop a deeper connection with them. I found a way to enhance my relationship with my husband, and I found a way to have a well-rounded quality of life.I want this for you too. You can have it all!I believe that being a parent and being in a relationship doesn’t have to be this hard.
