With over 15 years of experience in computer science education and research, I am passionate about creating and delivering innovative and engaging curricula, programs, and opportunities for students and faculty at Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University (AAMU). As the Director of Experiential Learning and Outreach, I lead the development and implementation of initiatives that foster applied learning, collaboration, and diversity in STEM fields. I also serve as a Faculty Lecturer in Computer Science, where I mentor and advise students, conduct research, and collaborate with colleagues on grant proposals and journal publications. I am committed to advancing AAMU's mission of excellence, relevance, and responsiveness, and to contributing to the success and growth of the College of Engineering, Technology and Physical Sciences.In my current role as the Director of Experiential Learning and Outreach, I manage and coordinate various projects and activities that enhance the academic and professional development of students and faculty. Some of these include organizing and supervising competition teams, serving as the Relationship Manager for the Google in Residence program, and facilitating partnerships with industry and community stakeholders. I also leverage my skills in data analysis, communication, and attention to detail to monitor and evaluate the impact and outcomes of these initiatives. Additionally, I have earned multiple certifications in areas such as data science, cybersecurity, and design thinking, which I incorporate into my teaching and learning practices. In 2019, I was honored to be selected as a Faculty Scholar to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration, the world's largest gathering of women technologists and Faculty in Excellence for Service for my contributions to the campus and local community in service.
