Terry started his professional career at the Walt Disney Company which provided hands-on experience across a diverse array of business verticals, with particular emphasis on operations.Terry was recruited by McDonnell Douglas to turn around their $300M travel subsidiary, which had shown consistent financial losses for years. He restructured the subsidiary by renegotiating all material contracts, obtaining grants, hiring and/or promoting qualified management, establishing operational and infrastructural cohesiveness. When Carl Icahn sold TWA, he was left with more than $200M in bartered airline tickets and an agreement with TWA to acquire tickets at a premium discount. Carl engaged Terry as Global Discount Travel, COO, reporting directly to Carl and Gail Icahn, Terry built the team and infrastructure necessary to sell these tickets. Lowestfare.com became the first discount internet travel website, the company recognized $1M in daily revenues and hired over 1,000 employees within three years. Lowestfare.com became the fastest growing travel company in the U.S. and expanded their brand reach to other complementary products. The growth of Lowestfare.com illustrated the importance for businesses to develop dynamic pricing models, which led to Farelogix recruiting Terry to fill the position of CEO and President. Terry recognized an immediate need within the Company for operating funds, prompting him to submit an unrestricted grant with The Strategic Innovation Fund from the Province of Ontario enabling the company to operate through it's start-up period.Terry was then recruited by the Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA), the 3rd largest non-profit in Canada. Within two years, Terry completely transformed operations, infrastructure, marketing, and fund development. He significantly changed their fundraising efforts by establishing a strategic target marketing program. These partnerships and organizational changes generated an increase in revenues by more than 100% annually. In 2011, Terry was asked to establish a start-up cell therapy company, jCyte. His first task was to build out the necessary corporate structure. In 2012, CIRM awarded an initial $17.1M grant to the program, followed by multiple additional grant awards. As COO, Terry was responsible for all operational and financial aspects of the business, including relationships with the Regents, third-party suppliers, contractors, management of intellectual property, and much more.
