As the Chief Data Officer and Co-Founder of Burst Analytics, Inc., I was instrumental in architecting the foundational data infrastructure and the development of advanced machine learning models that revolutionized the way data is applied to improving customer experiences. Red Berry Innovations is a leader in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence for the department of defense and intelligence community.As Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer I have decades of experience in cybersecurity, vulnerability research, information security, and artificial intelligence. I lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists focused on developing advanced cyber, machine learning, and deep learning capabilities.

Nebraska Applied Research Institute (NARI) was founded to research cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions for operational technology systems, specifically within the building control and utility control system space. NARI is a 501c3 non-profit and part of the University of Nebraska educational system. As the Chief Technology Officer, I owned the vision and strategy across all technology sectors to include hardware and software development, cloud application development, emulation systems, penetration testing, and ethical hacking. I was responsible for overall creation and maintenance of the cyber security research program to include creating policy and procedures, securing contracts, identifying and acquiring resources, and hiring personnel. I was also responsible for overall creation and maintenance of the cyber security tool development program to include generating product ideas, capturing and protecting intellectual property, securing contracts, identifying and acquiring resources, and hiring personnel.In addition to my technology role, I directly managed all business development efforts across the organization to include managing industry and government stakeholder relationships and directly managed all engineering and business development employees.

At Raytheon, my role spanned reverse engineering, vulnerability research, and exploitation, culminating in the uncovering of zero-day vulnerabilities. This work developed novel capabilities within a multitude of hardened embedded systems and software applications, extending across various technology domains such as mobile, infrastructure, networking, telematics, and more. My expertise led me to spearhead multi-million dollar, multidisciplinary engineering programs as the Technical Lead Engineer. The outcomes were a decade ahead of the contemporary state-of-the-art.My responsibilities also encompassed program management of large government programs. I devised and implemented strategic plans for an array of programs, managed resources and schedules, and cultivated team growth. My leadership in business development and proposal writing was instrumental in securing millions in contract awards.To foster innovation and collaborative spirit, I organized and led five off-site hack-a-thon events. These gatherings united 25 engineers from nine Raytheon locations, yielding several intellectual property awards and government contracts. My routine interactions with senior military and government leaders nurtured trusted relationships, significantly enhancing their organizational capabilities and success.As an engineering group lead, I mentored numerous junior engineers, guiding three into leadership roles and two others to site lead positions. My commitment to leadership excellence was further demonstrated through the development of an internal leadership training program aimed at enhancing the leadership quality across the company.My technical and leadership acumen was recognized with the Raytheon Technical Honors Award in 2011 and the Raytheon Outstanding Performance Award in both 2013 and 2016. These accolades were a testament to my significant contributions to the field and my steadfast commitment to advancing our technological frontier.

At Securboration, my technical responsibilities were complemented by rigorous research and development in cutting-edge fields critical to national security and intelligence. I led the development of domain ontologies for various segments of the intelligence community, implementing these models using the Web Ontology Language (OWL). This initiative improved the semantic understanding and data interoperability among complex intelligence systems, thereby enhancing analytic capabilities and situational awareness.I spearheaded the design and implementation of an advanced machine learning system specifically tailored to combat one of the most perilous threats in modern warfare: improvised explosive devices (IEDs). This innovative system was engineered to ingest and analyze disparate data sources, including intelligence reports and real-time field data, to identify and track the networks of IED manufacturers across multiple conflict zones in the Middle East. The core objective of this system was to distill vast amounts of complex and varied data into actionable intelligence. By employing sophisticated algorithms and data processing techniques, the system could pinpoint patterns and connections that eluded traditional analysis methods. This capability allowed for the real-time tracking of IED makers, their supply chains, and logistic movements, thus providing critical insights that were previously unattainable.

At Avidyne, my role focused on enhancing the functionality and reliability of aviation systems through software design, coding, and testing within an embedded hard real-time operating system environment. These systems were run on an array of processors including PowerPC, Motorola 9S12, and x86, supporting critical navigation and operational functions such as GPS, Flight Management Systems, Databus, and System Configuration.I played a key role in integrating support for Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) approaches, significantly improving the accuracy of GPS in North American airspace. Additionally, I developed an application to transform raw ARINC-424 navigational data into a custom database binary format, thereby optimizing the storage and retrieval processes essential for FMS.A significant portion of my work involved the certification of software modules to DO-178B levels A-D, which are critical standards for ensuring the safety and airworthiness of onboard software systems. This process included comprehensive requirement analysis, code and test reviews, and the generation of detailed software design documents. My efforts ensured that all software components met the stringent requirements set forth by regulatory bodies, thereby upholding the highest standards of safety and reliability.
