With my Logic class, I was able to study the opponent's offense and tendencies during the game and logically predict what they were going to call next and call a defensive play accordingly.

This started off as volunteer and eventually lead me to getting the defensive coordinator position the following year in 2013. I learned that hard work pays off as I was usually the one who made sure the student-athletes got the equipment and water on the field before the practice began. I would make sure it was all returned as well. I not only learned a lot about football working under now ISU student assistant Bobby DeArmond, I learned more about myself. I learned that if I really wanted something, then I was going to go get it. Even though I was stuck doing the "grunt" work as some call it, I never lost sight of what I was doing for the students, which is my ultimate goal.

Football InternTiffin University May 2013 - Jul 2013Had the opportunity to use different recruiting tools such as Scoutware.com. Helped organize, register, and coach high school and kids' camps. Took inventory on team gear and equipment. Made phone calls to incoming and returning players on different matters regarding report day and physicals and such. I received a real look as to what happens on the inside of a functioning college football team. From doing work for the Director of Football Operations to doing work with the head coach, it was definitely a learning experience. I was able to apply some critical and creative thinking throughout this whole process.
