Network Technician (Transport)
-Installed, provisioned, tested, and turned-up transport networks-Equipment installed, but not limited to: racks, cabling, DC power plants, cross connect panels, nodes, NIDs, cards, MSTP, DWDM, CWDM, routers, switches, and hubs-Worked directly with engineering and design teams to create work-orders for installations and turn-up equipment -Wrote MOPs for general installation -Managed and provided support for all sites between Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga and provided backup support for the rest of the state of Tennessee, northern Alabama, northern Mississippi, northwestern North Carolina, and southwestern Virginia -Performed monthly and quarterly preventative maintenance. Duties included, but not limited to: FDP audits, OTDR tests on all dark fiber, maintenance on generators, HVAC units, DC power plants, replacement of equipment filters, and monitoring equipment voltage-Performed complete site audits for new installations-Managed several physical fiber-optic routes between Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga. Duties included, but not limited to: requesting pole transfers for pole repairs and replacements, underground fiber-optic locates, fiber-cut troubleshooting, and coordinating splicing -Served as on call contact 24/7 for onsite response to sites for emergency traffic and site issues
