Started assisting on a Rotary project teaching blind children to swim then became AustSwim qualified (2017). An opportunity presented itself to teach mainstream school kids and also couple evenings a week in 2019 and got hooked.Mainly teach primary schools (Prep-Gr6) and after schools (predominately level where they learn good technique on freestyle breathing and breaststroke kick) but also do higher levels including pre-squad Breaststroke / Butterfly, youth and adults. With all the mental health issues out there, often deal with those with ASD (Autism spectrum disorder), ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), GDD (Global developmental delay), ODD (Oppositional defiant disorder), Selective Mutism (anxiety such they cannot speak in some settings), phobia's (taught one person that had been resuscitated twice as child to manage phobia/anxiety) etc. as well as physical challenges (vision, Cerebral Palsy etc).Picked up various swimming courses and lifeguarding along the way and recently completed a Diploma of Counselling to assist clients better.

Responsibilities included the setting of strategic direction and environment for growth which included the rebranding / marketing, political lobbying and internal communications; IT renewal focused on servicing the business and replacement of CEO.• Led the rescue of the organisation from closure following the Federal Government Christmas 2014 cutback announcement. Took charge of political lobbying which resulted in reinstatement of the 2014 cutbacks and more recently lobbied for the funding extension till June 2018. • Pulled together and set up program to change stakeholder and public perception. Rebranding (from Dads In Distress to Parents Beyond Breakup) and clearly stating values though Community Consultation Paper & Submission to Parliamentary Inquiry to distance ourselves from radical men’s groups. Outcomes include commercial opportunities, sponsorship & increased government support.• Set the IT direction and processes to focus on core business and enable growth. A focus on secure low or no cost cloud based applications to eliminate administration was instigated to replace highly manual systems without reporting interfaces (incl. iSurvey for attendance and integration into Salesforce Client Management system, MailChimp to manage mail lists and consolidated 3 web sites into WordPress with a Learning Management System, a new phone system to allow decentralisation of call centre and Google suite and Workplace). Assigned to DEDJTR / DELWP (Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources / Department of Environment, Land, Water & Planning) are the Victorian Government Departments responsible for the Powerline Bushfire Safety Program (PBSP) to implement recommendations or the Bushfire Royal Commission. Primary functions related to the replacement specific types of HV and Private powerlines and Ensuring that projects schedules were accelerated to meet department objectives.Achievements included :• Reinvigorated the stalled $200m Powerline construction projects through intensive project management and negotiation. Set up the programs project prioritisation in conjunction with the Emergency Services Commissioner for the remainder of the program.• Submitted the detailed plan to allowed the Director to request treasury and Minister to bring forward appropriations and complete the program 3 years ahead of schedule.

Assigned to Melbourne Airport Responsibilities included managing a range of projects including Communication Room refurbishments, Enterprise Mobility Platform, Metering system upgrade and other projects with reporting via Sharepoint.Key achievements included • Identified and took action to prevent a major overspend risk on the new Data Communications facility project. Analysis and presentation resulted in contracts being immediately awarded which would avoid rework of fibre network with savings of more than $700k

Responsible for several projects involving close collaboration with departmental managers in the planning, contract negotiation, implementation and operational integration within project constraints.Key achievements and experience:• Spearheading the establishment of a regional performance program to significantly improve overall IT performance. Assigned to critical project due to lack of progress. Conducted a project review and calculated the cost of issues (~$1.6m pw.) and root cause analysis (identified a mix of technical and cultural issues) that would not be resolved with existing direction. CenITex challenged and confirmed all technical issues and a programme of 12 projects presented and approved by CIO of DHS and CenITex. • Leading the re-initiation of the previously stalled Moe Call Centre Upgrade Project. The ~$1m project to upgrade the Avaya / Open Wave systems had been stalled for 3 years between AlphaWest and DHS. Project situational review identified many issues including the need to stabilise and make accessible interfaced systems and fulfilling the DHS obligations. Successfully negotiated technical and contractual issues and completed project in four months. • Orchestrated the upgrade of organisational telephone systems within a pressured timeframe. EOFY funds were made available for phone upgrades (~$120k). Several offices with highest impact identified and created tender / contracts to roll out of NEC SV8100 and VOTS systems. Strong liaison with suppliers and managers for cutover and staff training saw project completed within tight time frame.• Assumed management responsibility and deploying an appropriate carer registry. Situational review showed project had stalled due to personality conflicts between project manager and the project team. Assumed control and completed several scheduling workshops, rectified communications and coached the Project Manager to re-establish a team environment to complete project on time.

Accountable for successful delivery of a range of digital projects involving the coordination, resource management, scheduling, estimating, development, deployment, risk management and reporting.Key achievements and experience:• Managed key Citrix Infrastructure Migration following the Ericsson takeover of Orange NL operations. Assessed the ability for the remote operation of the platforms via the Citrix system. Managed key software packaging, testing and desktop specifications impacting around 400 users. Result: All applications were successfully deployed and seamlessly migrated to new systems. • Streamlined and significantly improved organisational reporting interfaces; facilitated timely and accurate strategic business decisions. Review and analysis of current reporting systems within the Network Operations Centre, including: base data collection (ARS Remedy), extraction systems (Remedy, SAP Business Intelligence and Oracle procedures), Excel macro and report construction. Result: Various reports and procedures were found to be defective and processes were redesigned or report limitations corrected and/or presented. • Managed the relocation of data storage from Vodafone offices to the Ericsson Premises. Determined that a contract with Vodafone stipulated the relocation of data storage. Assessed the current system of ETL, Oracle database, security, assessed the Ericsson ENIQ system and planned the relocation to the Ericsson servers. Result: The Oracle based system was successfully relocated as per recommendations.

The Hague Area, Netherlands

Initially launched as Dutchtone and rebranded to Orange Netherlands, the company was established at a time of deregulation for the operation of a mobile cellular telephone network. • Identified and rectified various issues which had resulted in less that optimal deployment practices of the 3G network. Result: Numerous changes where made at senior levels and organisational recommendations were adopted, resulting in the increases of deployment of sites from 5 to 60 per week to comply with government requirements to retain the €600m frequency allocation. • Increased the stability and usability of the Network Performance Management System. Result: Data loads increased from 83% with low system availability to over 99% with high availability. Orange Group received a Centre of Excellence Nomination for excellence in this area. • Replaced the Network Performance Management System and ensured system capability for 3G deployment. Result: The upgraded produced was adopted by in excess of 20 companies globally. • Oversaw the deployment of an accurate and user-friendly ticketing system. Result: The application was well received and remained operational, with minimal modifications, in the following years. • Constructed a demonstration system which depicted the benefits associated with the establishment of a Business Objects system. Result: Enabled the adoption of a standard reporting tool which successfully interfaced to a range of organisational databases. • Improved the operations of Radio Optimisation Team through the establishment of data warehouse.Result: Enabled the production of approximately 80 graphs and tables in 30 seconds. Radio Network Performance improved and the Manager of Radio Optimisation stated that staff were able to locate the root cause of issues with enormous efficiency.• Negotiated and managed the delivery of the Nokia 3G Packet Core Deployment. Result: The project was successfully completed two days ahead of interfaces.

Stratford Traffic was established to distribute traffic survey equipment. Following a range of significant organisational changes, the company moved into Intelligent Transport Systems deployment. This role involved: the significant improvement of product sales, leading to increases in company value; the development and maintenance of key organisational relationships; and the attainment of ISO 9001. Base equipment sales included road traffic survey equipment through to entire Freeway management systems with electronic singage, road monitoring / data collection and fog detection equipment into the State/Regional Monitoring Centers. The Company activities featured in Engineers Australia Magazine. Training videos produced in the survey techniques became teaching material used in 70% of universities (teaching Traffic Engineering). Technical papers such as "Application of Light Emitting Variable Message signs to convey information to Motorists on high Speed Highways" was published in the "International Conference on Proceedings of the Application of New Technology to Transport System" in 1995.

Malaysia

Strarch International is a design and construction company which holds a range of unique patents that allowed the cost effective, timely and safe construction of large clear span buildings. This role involved the management of the client relationship, contractors and suppliers of a large hanger to store two 747’s in Malaysia. This project was successfully completed ahead of schedule.

Galvin Construction Group was a 2nd tier building contractor that managed a range of medium size commercial construction projects. This project involved managing a large building in Fitzroy Street St.Kilda (Victoria Australia). The basement construction was considered innovative in its day but is now standard construction.

Australia

Project managed a range of projects at a FMCG Manufacturing plant in Wodonga Victoria including buildings and landscaping. Most challenging being the concrete roofing over large tanks (as given less than a week before a Christmas shutdown to organise when construction industry normally closed) and a project to plan the raising of a roof as larger machines were required. Designs showed that over 4km (when rationalised) of pipework (did initial designs personally) and 600 cables were scheduled so that minimal downtime would occur.

The City of Moorabbin was a local government area located about 20km southeast of Melbourne. Responsibilities involved:* Management of the Employment Program - Designing, securing funding and running training programs (training over 150 participants and budget that became bigger than some of the municipalities departments).* Establishment of the Southern Suburbs Group Training Scheme (to provide apprenticeship training)* Designed Traineeship program that Municipal Association promoted (resulting in new jobs and awards)

As a graduate engineer did design work at head office with two significant site assignments.* North West Shelf Gas Pipeline project (West Australia under Fluor Maunsell joint venture) - Site Engineer Metering stations - Managed various inspectors and able to speed up this section of work.* Tieri township construction (Central Queensland Australia under Brown & Root, Fluor (BRF) joint venture) - Arrived on site when trees were being cleared and managed various aspects (including elements of subdivision construction, shopping centre, Olympic pool, Water treatment facility etc) through to people moving into the 160 houses that were built to house the workforce for the Oakey Creek coal mine.
