Tess Posthumus opened her first bar Flying Dutchmen Cocktails in 2017 after winning several national and international competitions. Alongside her business partner Timo Janse, Tess aims to build a true cocktail culture in the Netherlands by focusing on (neo-) classic cocktails and education for guests and the Dutch hospitality industry. In August 2020 she opened the doors of her second bar, Dutch Courage, where she focusses on Dutch spirits and its heritage, with genever in particular.When she's not running her bars, Tess is an in-demand hospitality consultant, member of the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation board of directors, (co-)owner of Perfect Serve Barshow Amsterdam and Amsterdam Cocktail Week. She owns her own line of ‘The Collection’ bar tools and is a partner of the non-alcoholic spirit Selati.Tess is also a published author. Her first two books 'Cocktails with Tess’ and ‘Masterclass: Cocktails’ were joined in 2023 by ‘Cocktail Bible’, a big 528 pager filled with tips, tricks, history and recipes.
