• Support and encourage the activities of the ASE in Scotland (Teachmeets, Learning Festivals etc).
• Liaise with other ASE Field Officers across the UK to gain intelligence and share good practice especiallyregarding the current topic of sustainability and the STEM/STEAM agenda.
• Liaise with the regional structures of other science and education organisations including Education Scotland, the Scottish Government, Royal Society of Edinburgh, Royal Society of Biology etc.
• Coordinate and manage the delivery of the ASE Scotland Annual Conference

• Initiate, develop and support the facilitation of the ‘Racing to School’ Education Programme in line withCurriculum for Excellence (Numeracy, Literacy and Health and Wellbeing).
• Take overall responsibility for running activities with groups of schoolchildren during planned‘Racing to School’ events including full risk assessments.

Edinburgh

• Developing and delivering the PGDE Science course in line with Curriculum for Excellence and Nationalqualifications and other PGDE courses.
• Mentor Student progress and good practice.
• Mark Student assignments in line with University criteria and provide subsequent feedback.
• Visit Students on school placements and provide feedback for Student observation lessons.
• Screening prospective PGDE Student applications.
• Conducting interviews with prospective Students.

Project managing the national eLearning and Traveller Education Scotland (eLATES) pilot for Scotland’s mobile young people inline with Curriculum for Excellence.

Supporting the use and implementation of Information Computer Technology (ICT) throughout Nursery, Primary and Secondary curriculum in line with ‘A Curriculum for Excellence’.

Successfully teaching Biology and Science with associated preparation and correction at every level of the curriculum, including all Higher Still courses.

Successfully teaching Science and Biology at every level of the curriculum and responsible for supporting colleagues in the initial implementation, development and use of ICT within the Science department.
