About Tessa Maye Easdale

I am a passionate professional, dedicated to creating meaningful customer experiences by designing and delivering solutions informed by customer behaviour. As an Innovation Lead my focus is designing and delivering customer innovations within the Retail Bank that sit outside of business unit priorities. This involves leading an interdisciplinary team of designers, engineers and data scientists to build in-house or partner with tech companies to deliver solutions. I have held a number of interesting roles in my time at CommBank. After completing the CommBank Retail Banking Commercial grad program I landed a role as a service designer and researcher within the Human Centred Design team, an in-house creative consultancy. I then became a Product Owner in our credit cards and personal loans business delivering products like StepPay (CommBank’s BNPL) and introduced a card Gambling Lock feature. I then moved into a Product Lead role in our Financial Well-being and Behavioural Science team working on strategic projects focused on money management and literacy of Australians. I graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Performance Studies and Business Management. Performance Studies is an interdisciplinary study of the world through the lens of performance. 'Performance' in this context examines both everyday performances of ritual, politics, sport or gender to more traditional forms of theatre. Taking from fields as diverse as anthropology, sociology, cultural studies and history, my studies and research taught me to open my eyes and ears to the many facets of life that play out in human beings in every context. A major highlight of my degree was my cultural exchange to George Washington University in Washington, DC.
