Fritz Fellow - Ai-Generated Images And IdentifiabilityGeorgetown University Law Center Aug 2024 - PresentWashington, District Of Columbia, United StatesAs a member of a multi-disciplinary team and under the guidance of Professor Amanda Levendowski, I am researching potential legal and ethical issues created by Generative AI-models producing images of people. This research includes an expansive consideration of the Right of Publicity scheme, cross-comparing current legislative solutions to deepfakes, and assessing the applicability of pre-existing appropriation-based, intellectual property remedies to nonconsensually produced and disseminated deepfakes against constitutionally protected interests in speech and expression. -

Summer Law ClerkU.S. Office Of Special Counsel May 2024 - Aug 2024Washington, District Of Columbia, United StatesWorking closely with my supervisors Chelsey Whynot and Johanna Oliver, I engaged with and analyzed whistleblower claims across multiple executive branch agencies. Because no two claims were the same, I gained further proficiency in researching and analyzing relevant statutes, regulations, or policy statements attached to the claims. I organized and led calls with whistleblowers to better understand their claims and how they might meet our legal standard for referral. Where the standard was not met, I wrote closure letters that synthesized the facts of their case, set out our legal standard for referral, and explained the legal reasoning behind why their allegation(s) would not be referred. For cases that had been previously referred, I considered agency reports and accompanying whistleblower comments for whether the agency's findings were reasonable, engaging in further legal research and analysis to present my findings to my supervisors. I made a case presentation in our unit's staff meeting, presenting the facts of the case, our findings and potential next steps, and answering questions from Disclosure Unit attorneys. Finally, I wrote a Letter to the President, the final step in a referred whistleblower case, presenting the full life of the case and our recommendations in memorandum to the President and relevant Congressional committees. -
Development InternBlumenthal Performing Arts Jan 2023 - Jun 2023Charlotte, North Carolina, United StatesFor the past 6 months, I have gained experience in all facets surrounding Development and Fundraising in the nonprofit space. Whether it was researching potential community partners, crafting partnership proposals for Blumenthal Events, leading a subcommittee and raising over 800 dollars worth of in-kind donations for our staff giving campaign, assisting in putting together grants through research, writing, and editing, or spearheading a social media series surrounding Testimonials from Blumey Alums, my time with Blumenthal Performing Arts offered me the agency to go far beyond what a conventional "internship" would offer. As someone who hopes to spend her life in the nonprofit sector, I received an honest look at the inner workings of a successful arts nonprofit, and between working donor events, attending committee meetings, and hosting "The Founder's Room," I was able to see firsthand why donor outreach and relationship building is critical for success and growth. I am beyond thankful for Samantha Kowert, Rachel Blake, Lisa Dixon, Sophie Zapf, and Sara Henley for taking the time to mentor me through this process, impart their individual strengths and specialties, and treat me as a true member of the team. I have nothing but love for this company, and I look forward to continuing my career in the sector!
