Industrial Wastewater Investigator

- Vice President - Field Advisory on the RISE Organizing Committee- CSU52 Union Shop Steward (2020, 2021, 2022)- Presenter at 2020 AWWOA Annual Operators Seminar in Banff, AB (Concrete and Asphalt Cutting Awareness)- Enforcement of EPCOR Drainage Bylaw 19627, and other Source Control Program protocols;- Public education and outreach, specifically with regards to appropriate waste disposal;- Perform onsite inspections of site operations and determine if pre-treatment or alternative disposal measures are required for wastewater effluent, including site historical reviews prior to inspections;- Sample collection, field testing, and submission to internal or external laboratory for appropriate analysis;- Response to and investigation of uncontrolled wastewater releases, alleged violations and sewer related complaints;- Collaboration with other departments and agencies to determine appropriate response and involvement with incidents, and use of reasonable precautions to ensure public, environmental, and infrastructure safety;- Preparation of investigative reports, presentation of findings, recommendations to remedy adverse effects;- Assist with Bylaw and Code of Practice revisions, and provide input to Environmental Monitoring and Compliance Manager on business plans and directions;- Preparation and delivery violation letters, enforcement actions, and review of compliance approvals and permits;- Monitor and assess large volume wastewater releases, including calculation of pipe flow rates and volumes, and identification of vulnerable downstream infrastructure;
