As an intern in SU's Neuromuscular Physiology Lab with Dr. Harmon, I have the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research that perfectly aligns with my dual major in Exercise Science and Neuroscience. Dr. Harmon’s research focuses on understanding the neuromuscular adaptations that occur due to aging, immobilization/disuse, fatigue, and strength training, emphasizing motor unit behavior changes and corticospinal pathway alterations. This experience has allowed me to integrate my academic background into practical, impactful research. My responsibilities include being a research assistant, literature reviews, poster presentations, and publication preparation. This internship is providing me with invaluable experience in the intersection of exercise science and neuroscience, equipping me with the skills and knowledge necessary for a future career in research and academia.

As a Global Ambassador for Syracuse Abroad, I leverage my cross-cultural experiences to inspire and guide prospective students. My role involves sharing anecdotes and advice, encouraging others to go abroad, and being a resource. My passion for cultural exchange and my dedication to helping others navigate their study-abroad journeys make me a committed and enthusiastic Global Ambassador.

I have had the pleasure of working at Lotus Lake Camp for the past five years, where I have taken on various roles, each with increasing responsibility. Working with children aged 5-14, I have developed a wide range of skills in child supervision, activity planning, and water safety management. My journey at camp includes working as a camp counselor, lifeguard, swim instructor, and waterfront director. My duties range on a large spectrum: organizing 5-6 swim lessons a day, delegating lessons to instructors, organizing a wide range of activities, supervising children, overseeing all waterfront activities, and ensuring all safety protocols are adhered to. Throughout my time at LLC, I have demonstrated a strong commitment to providing a safe, fun, and enriching experience for all campers. My roles have allowed me to develop leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, preparing me for future opportunities in youth development and recreation management.
