I have a master's degree and a certificate in Nonprofit Leadership from Seattle University. As the Environmental Justice Advisor at the City of Seattle, I work with Seattle Public Utility (SPU) to shape water and waste priorities, policies, programs, performance measures, investments, and decision making.In my current role, I develop and implement a shared environmental justice operating framework and empowerment strategy for SPU, and serve as the Language Access Liaison for the 1,300-person agency. I also provide strategic leadership to plan and implement SPU's environmental and public health strategies, and craft and draft policy for SPU Corporate Policy and Planning. Additionally, I write and manage contracts with community partners and contractors, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure SPU's services are accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of the diverse communities we serve.
