In Palau I was working with The Nature Conservancy and their local partners on fisheries management and data entry for the Northern Reefs of Palau. I was also working with the Palau International Coral Reef Center on marine fieldwork, inclusive of coral reef resiliency assessments in both Palau and Pohnpei. In conjunction with PAWS and Koror State, I conducted my central project: performing a 2013 census of cat and dog populations in Koror State with the goal of informing the State on the status of the populations, the level of awareness concerning pest population control, and the general populace's interest in a free spay/neuter clinic. While in Pohnpei, FSM, I helped coordinate the logistics, as well as facilitate, two workshops that took place in Chuuk, FSM. The workshops were a board training for a partner organization (the Chuuk Women's Council) and a Conservation Action Planning workshop for a local community, attended by representatives of partner organizations across the Micronesia Region.

I was the TA for a course on Plant Evolutionary Ecology with Professor Rodolfo Dirzo. The course explored population ecology, community ecology, and biotic interactions with an emphasis on Latin American ecosystems. The course also studied biodiversity from the botanical perspective and discussed the anthropogenic effects on plants through a series of practical exercises based at Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve and the discussion of relevant scientific papers.

I worked in the lab of Rodolfo Dirzo completing my honors thesis research on "The effects of non-trophic herbivory by vertebrates on understory plants in temperate and tropical ecosystems."

I was an intern on a project studying the effects of the removal of the invasive rat species on the food web dynamics of the native forests of Hawaii. My main position was as a field assistant, but I worked in the lab as well, performing animal dissections and taking data on the diversity and biomass of the forests.

I was a general volunteer helping out with animal care, education programs, and administering medicine to the animals.

I led tours of the biological preserve for the public, Stanford University students, and local middle school students. The tours included information on the history, geology, and biology of the preserve. I also taught 6th graders from Eastside College Preparatory School who came to Jasper Ridge for field-based science learning in the spring.

For my developmental psychology class I spent 4 hours a week in the progressive Bing Nursery School as an observer and support staff for the nursery school teachers. I helped initiate play, resolve conflicts, read stories, direct art stations, and set up the classroom for students aged 3-5. Many of the students had diagnosed behavioral, social, or learning disorders.

I worked as a gardener and interpretive guide in Greenie's Conservation Corner, an organic garden with functioning energy conservation materials, such as a rainwater catchment system, a wind turbine, and solar panels. I also lead public tours of the Aye-Aye forest enclosure, a reverse day-night cycle enclosure for nocturnal lemurs.

I worked at the Center as an assistant at the educational programs, as well as a general volunteer performing grounds management work. I also had the opportunity to work with the primary Animal Care employee, during which time I helped with feeding the wolves and attending on the pup captures and medical check ups.

I was involved in grounds management for the lands the Foundation owned at the time, helping to write their 1, 3, and 5 year land-use plans. I also participated in studies on the bison and mountain lion populations on the lands controlled by the Foundation or it's partner, World Wildlife Fund.

Coached both recreational classes of girls and boys (ages 3-14) and competition-level girls (ages 4-8).
