In order to do this, I will outsource tasks and act as the point of contact to a variety of local and international workers, as well as our on site team.Approximately each fortnight I will present Trelise with the samples that have come in in this time, discuss ways to improve them, and conceptualise new ideas using inspiration material and research I have pre-prepared.Day to day I will range plan with my team, anticipate and troubleshoot problems as they arise, approve strike offs, train new staff members and interns, communicate with outworkers and factories, and source fabrics, as well as general workroom management (ordering threads, fusings, and the like).As I regularly have to make time sensitive decisions in Trelise's absence, a strong knowledge of brand identity is essential in this role.Each brand under the Trelise Cooper umbrella produces four 70+ piece ranges a year, often under extremely tight time frames. As a result, in this role I have developed my ability to remain unflappable under pressure, quickly delegate tasks based on work load and skill set of workers, and confidently make decisions. In this role, I attended design meetings, and made suggestions for upgrading already completed garments, as well as suggesting appropriate styles for textiles as they arrived.At this point, I prepared and sent work to onshore outworkers, and steamed, QC'ed, and finished samples as they arrived back at the office.In this role, I hugely developed my practical skill set, especially in sample cutting.

Awoke Vintage is a boutique clothing store in Brooklyn, New York, providing customers with a friendly and tailor made experience within a fast paced environment.

In 2017 I started developing needlepoint tapestry designs for Nancy's Stitch Studio. This involved skills in both hand and digital illustration. It also required stitching skills, as the designs needed to be stitched as samples before they were able to be shown to customers and sold in store.

Nancy’s Stitch Studio offers a variety of products and kitsets which are made on site. This role involved putting together kitsets and patterns to put into the store. Presentation of product and attention to detail is vital. My role also involved anticipation of quantities of products required, ordering products, fulfilling orders in a timely fashion, developing new products, digital embroidery, and developing paperwork so as to enable maximum efficiency. Since the end of my degree, I have been making garments part time on a commission basis. This has developed my skills in working with clients and working to a brief.

I worked part time at the Fabric Warehouse in a Retail Assistant role. This involved cash handling, customer interaction and service, and general upkeep of the store. A good knowledge of textiles and garment construction was essential in this role, so as to confidently advise customers on the best way to achieve and execute their desired projects. This role also included burn testing, so as to determine a textile’s fiber content as it arrived in store.

IN 2017 I was given the opportunity to develop a collection to show at New Zealand Fashion Week, in the Graduate Show.
