With one of the region’s fastest growing business scenes, it’s an exciting time to be in San Marcos. As Community & Economic Development Director for the City of San Marcos, strategic collaboration with our business community is at the forefront of my role to help attract, retain and expand businesses in this community. At the City of San Marcos, we operate more like a business than a bureaucracy and aim to offer ‘concierge’ services to help businesses thrive including permitting and development assistance, business liaison services, pre-development meetings and site-selection assistance. This unique approach fosters successful civic/private partnerships that makes me proud of the work we do.I also oversee both the City of San Marcos’ affordable housing and neighborhood services programs and comprehensive communications and public information program, which includes media relations, social media and website management and community engagement. I transitioned into this public role in 2015 from the private sector, where I served as Executive Director for the Cardiff 101 Main Street Program. With deep roots in the business arena, applying innovative ideas to San Marcos’ economic development landscape is what I do best.When I’m not empowering the business community of San Marcos, you can likely find me adoring my daughter, Thea, or exploring North County’s great local hiking trails and dining scene.
