The North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency Ltd (NAAJA) provides legal assistance and justiceservices for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Northern Territory.As the NAAJA data analyst officer I support data collection and reporting across NAAJA’s programs and offices. My main duties are to lead and manage NAAJA’s data reporting requirements, internal initiatives and help to use data to showcase our work. I provide technical input into database management and client management system and related data collection and processing at NAAJA. In addition I am responsible for collating, analysing and presenting NAAJA's statistics for internal/external reports and presentations. In this position I draw upon both my technical skills and my research and analysis skills and experience in working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Statistics, social statistics and engagement.

The role involves researching and consulting key stakeholders in multicultural organisations and community groups to inform the CALD community engagement plan for the 2021 Census for Northern Territory. Languages for translation assistance, key engagement event and cultural considerations for conducting Census. The engagement plan considered the ABS and 2021 Census national stakeholder management plan and in practice used a stakeholder management tool to manage and plan engagement for a coordinated approach. In my direct line is a Local Engagement Officer who I recruited and trained. This Officer is the line manager for over 20 Community Field Officers across Darwin, Palmerston and Alice Springs.

- Worked in collaboration across multiple internal stakeholder groups on the development of the 2021 Census Stakeholder Engagement plan. The plan identified barriers, principles for engaging stakeholders and practical solutions to coordinate the multiple stakeholder touchpoints required for the Census- Developed recruitment guidelines and other content, including interview questions requiring collaboration with internal stakeholders;- Developed and presented CEM training content;- Designed and consulted on WDB and Section Drive.

- Strategised SDAC22 cognitive interview recruitment of 60 participants to test new survey content and logistically managed a cognitive interview round;- Established relationships with Disability, Ageing and Carer networks, individuals and non-ABS organisations for cognitive interview recruitment;- Collaborated with Health National Statistics Centre (NSC) in survey development and question design to meet SDAC stakeholder needs;- Critically validated SDAC18 State datacubes with systematic validation checkpoints, which required critical thinking about RSE’s and MOU’s of estimates and proportions;- Designed, managed and led the validation of SuperMart and TableBuilder products;- Trained staff in the Population Flows method and SuperMart and TableBuilder validation;- Transformed SDAC18 data files and corresponding metadata into the format and file types compatible to flow through to the internal data retrieval program, SuperCROSS and the marketed client data access product, TableBuilder;- Supervised SDAC18 team member;- Executive member of the SA ABS Social Club and member of the Green Team.

Ninti One is a organisation with a focuses on research, rural community engagement and community development. My 5 week Internship arranged by the Aurora Project was located at the Alice Spring's Ninti One office. Here I was involved in research planning and development, database entry, survey development and results analysis, survey device preparation, general admin duties and survey administration in a remote Aboriginal community.

My role at the Conservation Council of SA and the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources was as a researcher contributing towards the development of the new South Australian Biodiversity Approach, 'The Nature of SA.' Specifically I was tasked with stakeholder engagement and desktop researching which culminated in a review and gap analysis between specific biodiversity conservation approaches and critical SA environmental legislation.
