The Way I workClient has an Idea; idea is transposed to a wireframe during a consultation.I produce an interactive wireframe to show a clickable user interface and journey. I use the framework Foundation for this.The design process starts, overlaying a design upon the wireframe.Front-end development is always mobile first, modular, dry and pixel perfect with browser testing back to IE8. I use a Mac running a local environment or vagrant box of the environment upon which it will be deployed. I write html / scss / js using Sublime Text. I compile the project using Gulp or Grunt. Gulp is the favorite at the moment as sass node-js is 100X faster then Ruby sass.If the project is Wordpress / Expression Engine or flat etc. I can take care of most of the build, if not it's passed onto a back end developer to plug into a custom CMS or build. Good practice or for faster turn around the backend is developed before the front end. The templates are then integrated simultaneously, I have knowledge of Rails, Twig and Symphony tagging language allowing me to take custom backend code and add it into the template language.All code is stored in git, I use command line to add, commit, pull, rebase and push code to its branch.Sites are deployed using Capistrano, or custom bash scripts to pull the latest version from git to the test or live server.The key ingredient in this process is the constant communication with the client and how strong your cup of coffee is.
