    Antenna Developer
    Ericsson Apr 2021 - Dec 2022
    Göteborg, Västra Götaland County, Sweden
I was part of the millimeter-wave team of Ericsson's Antenna Systems and Technology division. The team has a focus on developing advanced antenna systems (AASs) for 5G networks in the mm-wave frequency range. More specifically, my work and responsibilities were as follows:• Evolve antenna system requirements for current and future 5G mm-wave AASs, both from a system/network performance point of view and a perspective of co-existence with existing satellite services• Propose measurement procedures that capture compliance to component/system requirements in the most efficient manner• Interpret measurement results, and propose improvements to increase performance of the AAS and/or the accuracy of our measurement procedures• Use and improve advanced beamforming weight optimizations that comply with array radiation pattern requirements
  • Prodrive Technologies
    Designer
    Prodrive Technologies Oct 2020 - Mar 2021
Son En Breugel, North Brabant, Netherlands
At Prodrive Technologies, I was responsible for the following:• Hardware selection for a new radio performance and compliance testing laboratory• Design and characterization of sub-6 GHz antennas
  • Eindhoven University Of Technology
    Doctoral Candidate
Eindhoven University Of Technology Sep 2016 - Sep 2020
    Eindhoven, Netherlands
I performed my 4-years PhD program in collaboration with NXP Semiconductors. During this project, I’ve shown my ability to be critical on obtained results and to perform research independently. I’ve presented and published my results in peer-reviewed scientific journals and conferences. Besides performing research, I’ve assisted in theoretical and practical electromagnetics courses, and supervised several Bachelor and Master students. My research comprised of, but was not limited to, the following topics:• Assessing the effect of random amplitude and phase errors in array antennas• Designing, characterizing and calibrating mm-wave active phased arrays• Developing a novel antenna-gain measurement technique• Maturing a contactless characterization method for integrated antennas• Developing an antenna-testing methodology for high-volume manufactured integrated antennasThesis: Over-the-Air Characterization of Millimeter-Wave Integrated Antenna SystemsGraduated with distinction.
  • National Institute Of Standards And Technology (Nist)
    Guest Researcher
National Institute Of Standards And Technology (Nist) Oct 2019 - Mar 2020
    Boulder, Colorado, Usa
The core task of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is to create critical measurement solutions and make advancements in the science of measurements. This includes developing measurement standards and procedures, and making the measurement results traceable to the SI base units. During my stay at NIST I worked on performing a traceable open-ended waveguide antenna measurement. This open-ended waveguide is used in an over-the-air testbed for the characterization of highly integrated active phased-array antennas operating in the 5G mm-wave spectrum. To experimentally verify the capabilities of the system, we’ve conducting measurements on a 28 GHz dual-polarized active phased array. We’ve shown that using this testbed, it is possible to perform traceable angle-of-arrival and multi-tone measurements.
  • Asml
    Graduate Intern
    Asml Nov 2015 - Jul 2016
    Veldhoven, Netherlands
In high-precision lithography machines, exact positioning of the wafer is essential. In machines operating in vacuum, electrostatic clamps are often used for this purpose. To be able to estimate the clamping force on the wafer as a function of place and time in great accuracy, the electrostatic, and dynamic, behavior of the clamp has to be understood very well. During my graduation project, I’ve investigated and modeled (non-linear) dynamic mechanisms which come into play in these high-voltage electrostatic clamps during operation. Eventually these models have been verified by experimental data. Furthermore, future improvements have been proposed, which enables more reliable operation of these high-precision electrostatic clamps.Graded 9 out of 10.
  • Cpqd
    Intern
    Cpqd Mar 2015 - Jul 2015
    Campinas, Brazil
During my internship, I've created and implemented a fast and flexible algorithm for 3D beamforming in active antenna systems. To verify the algorithm, a 4x4 planar antenna array has been designed in CST Microwave Studio. Solutions to reduce back radiation and mutual coupling between the individual antenna elements have been implemented in the CST model as well.Graded 9 out of 10.
