Formerly known as Cellnet, part of SchlumbergerDesigned and developed the controlling software of an Automated Meter Reading (AMR) system that collects and processes 3 million smart meters’ data daily over a proprietary RF network, in C/C++, and using embedded Linux, pSOS, and VxWorks real-time operating systems (RTOS).• Product owner of an end-to-end automated test system for the AMR system. Decreased test time from several days to 8 hours and streamlined cross-platform alpha tests by building and managing the automated test system. Acquired resources, oversaw the software developed, and managed the system to run nightly tests for the new release of the system software.• Discovered, reported, analyzed, and troubleshot the production network performance problems, resulting in saving the company over $1.2 million in fees.• Managed a project team of 5 software developers for migration of the software suite from Windows CE 4.2 to 5.0 and a new handheld device. Engaged with handheld device vendors and advised executive management on device choice resulting in $450,000 savings in hardware costs.• Led the software release cycle with all deliverables of the system software developed by a team of 25 engineers. Significantly reduced user error related downtime and improved user satisfaction by providing system level training to Network Operation Center (NOC) personnel.
