As part of the Athlete Life team at the National Youth Sports Institute (NYSI), I worked on conceptualizing and facilitating workshops to help youth athletes to better manage the different aspects of their daily life. In addition, I supported the mental health screening and intervention process for youth athletes through research into the specific issues youth athletes may face and the supporting of a subsequent mental health framework for athletes, coaches and institute staff. I also created write-ups for the programmes I was involved in.

After my undergraduate education, I worked as a Project Officer in the Action Research for Community Health (ARCH) Laboratory. During my time with the laboratory, I played a key role in a study on Non-Palliative Care Professionals in the Healthcare sector and how they coped with palliative care patients. I also supported a study that sought to understand the recovery and rehabilitation processes of stroke patients. This experience exposed me not only to data management but also interviewing techniques and practical execution of theoretical psychological concepts.

In my time as a Research Assistant in the Action Research for Community Health (ARCH) Laboratory, I worked on a programme titled Project ARTISAN involving more than 50 senior citizens and youths; besides logistical support and group facilitation for the biweekly sessions, I was involved in data collection, data analysis and report writing. The Project was featured in the National Museum on National Day 2018, Families for Life Day and Grandparents Day.
