My responsibilities include, but are not limited to completing transcript reviews, 504 meetings and updates, Student Success Team meetings and updates, community member mediations, creating and changing schedules, parent meetings, signing student up for credit recovery, and working with students so that they felt comfortable going to class.

My responsibilities included ensuring all students went to college. In doing so I created an electronic checklist for all students and parents to have access to and to know where they are in their college prep each step of the way. I also registered students for the ACT and SAT, held parent meetings and arranged numerous college nights at the school.

As the Student Service Center Coordinator, I currently serve as the primary contact for parents of the community. I continuously use my translation skills to facilitate communication within the community since the majority of the student population comes from Spanish only speaking homes, as well as some faculty members have limited English. I monitor attendance, student files, student academic, social, and emotional development of present students as well as maintain relationships and resources with the graduates of the school.

I meet weekly with a group of 10 students to provide academic and personal counseling. In addition I work with the 9th and 10th graders on the D & F list and provide intervention services to them so they can become better acamaded into the school community and raise their grades.

I provided group and individual counseling sessions to students in the 7th and 8th grades. I help students through social and emotional distress while focusing on building their resiliency. I also co-facilitated the Black Student Union where students had the opportunity to develop their leadership skills by serving as committee chairs and representing the club at school functions.
