Tez Steinberg Email and Phone Number
I'm Tez Steinberg - keynote speaker, serial founder, and ultra endurance athlete. I'm the only person to solo row from California to Hawaii with no prior rowing experience - a grueling adventure I completed in summer 2020. No support boat. No resupply. All alone, 71 days. This journey began in 2008 when I was experiencing depression. To improve my mental health, I entered a short triathlon. I went on to run over 45 marathons, 2 Ironmans, and one 145-mile ultramarathon nonstop. In 2016, I decided to row across an ocean. I thought if someone who's not a rower or sailor can cross an ocean, perhaps it can inspire others to pursue their dreams. I founded the United World Challenge and launched crowdfunds that raised $75K for the expedition, $77K for scholarships for peace and funded the collection of 5,000 lbs of ocean plastic. While at sea, I gathered microplastic data for research with Scripps Institution of Oceanography.Throughout this journey I've learned time and time again that my assumptions about what I could do were not just short-sighted, they were completely invalid. I've since come to realize, that's true for ALL of us.As a keynote speaker I inspire people to find their ocean and the courage to cross it. I share lessons from my journey to and across the Pacific, and I teach practical tools to develop the resilience to turn setbacks into springboards.Tez Talks are a blend of adventure, personal growth, and business. I earned my MBA at London Business School and studied Economics at Oxford University and Macalester College. I have over 5 years experience leading complex projects with Deloitte Consulting, serving clients like Google, T-Mobile, Caterpillar, and Kaiser Permanente. My leadership has been recognized by some of the world’s foremost organizations. I'm a member of The Explorers Club, Summit, NEXUS, and Ultramarine Ocean Action. I'm a former Ellen MacArthur Foundation Fellow, and Global Shaper of the World Economic Forum, who in 2014 invited me to Davos and named me "One of the 50 best young minds in the world".Later this year I'm announcing the next United World Challenge: a world record attempt sponsored by GoPro, Oura, OCN.AI, Solgaard, and other leading brands, with a focus on ocean and climate innovation.
