Imagine growing up in a community where everyone’s parents are business owners. Everyone puts their own blood, sweat, and tears into their livelihoods and sees direct results of the hard work that they’ve put in day in and day out. Modeling your life after these highly successful entrepreneurs really has an impact on the type of professional that you become.I’ve taken this example set for me and have transitioned it into my own professional life. As a member of this budding virtual reality industry, I’ve recognized the need to wear many hats at once. With most current VR companies growing with the industry, the hard-nosed work ethic that I developed growing up and working at my family’s campground has been essential. At the same time, the grind needs a healthy balance of creative spirit. Having the opportunity to explore and express in the medium of VR, write and discuss my various experiences, and then share with other evangelists incorporates an element of fun that can be forgotten in adult life. Maintaining this balance of hard work and creativity is setting the stage for continued success as I develop my career.
