My role focuses in three key areas:Brand Advancement: Build HSL’s brand reputation with a focus on connecting donors to HSL’s mission and advancing the reputation of HSL’s research and teaching efforts. Collaborate with internal partners to ensure organizational alignment with the HSL brand.Content Strategy: Lead a content strategy that supports HSL’s business goals and engages key audiences. This includes leading a centralized content production team, and overseeing the operational infrastructure required to execute print and digital channels, including the HSL external websites. Development Communications: Lead a communications strategy for HSL's philanthropic campaign, and integrate development communications into HSL's overall communications and content strategy.

• Manage the development communications program for a six-site senior health care, housing, research, and teaching organization affiliated with Harvard Medical School• Lead communications strategy for a $150M – 200M campaign, including agency selection and management, theme identification, messaging, and a case for support • Key committee member for Hebrew SeniorLife’s annual $1M+ signature fundraising event, responsible for speechwriting, speaker training, videos, media relations, and social media, and collaborating with staff and volunteers on program strategy and messaging • Member of five-person Brand Steering Committee to manage the Hebrew SeniorLife brand, set communications and marketing strategy; and integrate Hebrew SeniorLife messaging across business lines• Serve on the website redesign committee and social media team• Supervise the Development Communications Specialist and Development Writer• Responsible for content creation in the Development Department, including appeals, major gift proposals, white papers, print and digital newsletters, and the annual report• Led creation and launch of new website for Hebrew SeniorLife’s Institute for Aging Research

Led the organization’s donor communications program. Provided ongoing analysis for the CEO and SVP for Development, and acted as a key participant in the department’s strategy. Responsibilities include publications, direct mail, collateral development, online communications, donor stewardship, messaging, speechwriting, and budgeting. Managed direct response efforts, resulting in $450,000 annually in mail and online donations. Supervised the Development Associate and her work, including gift processing and donor acknowledgments.

Led development and implementation of a donor-centered communications plan to engage PPLM supporters, as part of a $30 million comprehensive campaign. Responsibilities include messaging, speechwriting, publications, collateral development, online communications, direct response (mail and online), donor stewardship and budgeting.

Submitted proposals to local and national foundations to raise funds for PPLM programs, which resulted in more than $750,000 for the organization. Responsibilities included developing and writing proposals, coordinating with program managers, reporting accomplishments to funders, reviewing and compiling program budgets, building funder relationships and conducting prospect research.

Helped Fortune 500 companies build strategic philanthropy initiatives, and worked with nonprofits to develop signature cause programs. Responsibilities included project management; client relationship development; billing and budgeting; supervision of junior staff; presentation development and delivery; extensive competitive and issue research; and relationship development with potential nonprofit partners. Clients included Gillette, Procter & Gamble, PNC Financial Services, ConAgra Foods and CVS/Pharmacy.

Key member of small communications and marketing team for nonprofit arts organization. Developed and implemented strategic marketing plan, including public relations, e-mail marketing, sponsorship, advertising, promotions and events. Managed media relations for Wang Center education program, Classic Film Series and fundraising events. Wrote and edited collateral materials. Acted as liaison with advertising and public relations agencies.
