I joined Department of Mechanical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Patna in 2013. Prior to this, I was a Postdoctoral Associate at the Device Research Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical Engineering MIT through the Battelle/MIT Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. I received B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati in 2006 and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland in 2010. At IIT Patna, I direct the Thermal and Fluid Transport Laboratory (TFTL). TFTL focuses on the investigation of thermal and fluid transport during phase change for a variety of energy, water, and thermal management applications, both for ground and space based applications. Our approach relies on leveraging scalable micro/nano-fabrication, advanced characterization, state-of-the-art experimentation, and modern artificial and machine learning capabilities to enable mechanistic insights into complex fluid, interfacial, and thermal transport processes. The gathered understanding is then utilized to enhance heat and mass transfer for various applications.
