I seek opportunities to use knowledge acquired and honed during more than 40 years as an Intellectual property (IP) professor. Having also served as an arbitrator and mediator, drafted opinion letters, and given outside presentations, I would welcome opportunities of that kind.My courses featured tactical case evaluation: ways to cost-effectively obtain and maintain competitive advantages, as well as ways to minimize infringement risks. I enjoyed those opportunities as well as being able to answer questions and explain IP options by email and otherwise, usually gratis.A substantial range of expertise is evident from publications cited or linked below. Nearly 100 op-ed columns and several popular self-help discussions, as well as longer articles and essays are online. Two open source casebooks are also available. One, Fundamentals of Intellectual Property, has been downloaded nearly 5000 times.I focus on practical considerations, for example, the costs of suit and odds of recovery under various theories and strategies for enhancing the comparative value of options in particular contexts.I am eager to hear from former students and others who need a group presentation or a fresh appraisal of an IP-related situation.
