I worked for German magazines and newspapers including Süddeutsche Zeitung, Focus Schule, Playboy Deutschland, Ein Herz für Tiere, Partner Hund, Der Hund, Geliebte Katze, Katzen Magazin, AOK-c@re, Stadtmagazin go> München, Neue Apotheken Illustrierte, Technik in Bayern.I wrote a book on dog cognition and how they perceive the world: "Was Hunde denken", mvg 2010, German only.I ghostwrote everything online and some PR-pieces for the pet food manufacturer Animonda (www.animonda.de), 2001 - 2009.

Same magazine, different publishing house. Staff has changed mostly, but I pretty much do the same as before, minus the commuting, i.e. propose, write and edit stories, work on layout and photos and occasionally provide info graphics and hand crafted illustrations.

As a freelance editor I proposed, wrote and edited stories, worked on layout and photos, provided illustrations and generally gave a hand whenever needed. I commuted from Sicily to Berlin once a month and stayed there for an intense week, which was actually very close to my ideal working scheme.

During this interims position I guided the German dog lover's magazine "Partner Hund" through a series of subtle changes towards a more scientifically orientated yet fun-to read characteristic. I developed and implemented the concept for a new magazine profile, updated yearly planning, decided topics and front page, wrote and edited stories, guided freelancers, kept an eye on the budget and added useful contacts to experts in the field.After the magazine was successfully sold at the end of 2011 and my office ended I sporadically kept contributing as a freelancer.

The German publishing house mvg offered me a book contract, so I decided to give it a try and wrote a book on dog cognition. This provided equal measures of euphoria and desperation and sparked my ongoing passion not only for dogs but also for extended literary endeavours. I can't wait to write another book (as soon as the rest of my life gives me the chance).

While my wife had our son I cut back on journalism and helped out in her B&B/hostel activity to keep it up and runnig. I accomodated guests, organized their stay, passed on local tipps and information, served breakfast and generally enjoyed meeting folks from all over the world.

For the German Max-Planck-Society our team worked on preparing and running the museum exhibition "vCell. the virtual cell" and the accompanying website www.vcell.de.Inhaltliche Betreuung der Ausstellung „vCell. die virtuelle Zelle“ im Deutschen Technikmuseum in Berlin sowie Aufbau und Pflege des zugehörigen Internet-Auftritts (www.vcell.de) im Auftrag der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft und der S+P Medien AG, München
