TL of a 6 person Engineering Productivity team in Corporate Engineering.My team was responsible for improving the deployment and release performance and safety across the Corporate Engineering organization. We consulted with individual teams to drive standards and company-wide best practices, and converge on common toolsets to minimize the overhead produced by managing extensive analogues. As TL, I developed the team's strategy, determined the impact of our efforts, and took a leading role in developing our priorities. I also ensured that my team members had the resources they needed to complete their work.I authored several improvements to common toolsets to promote and reduce the cost of adopting best practices, leading to reductions in the cost of production management.I managed onboarding and development of junior engineers, both by mentoring and by developing and maintaining onboarding materials.

SRE at Waze.I developed a new system for debug log ingestion, halving the overall cost of making debug logs searchable across dozens of services.I adapted a new postmortem process for Waze, adapting best practices for the existing organizational culture, improving resolution of post-outage action items and developing a learning organization.

SRE in Managed Compute SRE on Mission Control, responsible for Google Kubernetes Engine and the App Engine Flexible Environment.In addition to performing oncall and operational responsibilities, I developed tooling to reduce toil for managing access to GKE deployments, and expanded SLO coverage for App Engine Flex, including alerting and monitoring.

Software Engineer on the Apache Beam SDK, and committer for the Apache Beam projectI developed a local implementation of the Beam programming model, enabling users to rapidly prototype and test their pipelines. I extended this local implementation to handle all of the requirements of the programming model, including cross-language execution.I created new testing primitives within the Beam ecosystem to enable users to deterministically test their unbounded pipelines, and publicized the new functionality (https://beam.apache.org/blog/test-stream/)I unlocked multiple additional execution engines by adding support for execution-engine independent representations, and assisted other engineers in implementing support for the Beam libraries on those engines.
