Main task at Cryptomathic was to take a proof of concept of a product for thirdparty management of cryptographic keys in AWS Keymanament service (AWS KMS) and mature it for cloud deployment. Many parts of the core product was already developed, but at lot of the maturing was in developing more consistent Configuration as Code, Continous Integration, Automated Testing and Continous deployment and additionally security scanning. Afterwards it was possible to improve continously on the product in smaller incrementations.Secondly we developed the possibility to qucikly spin up a openshift cluster in AWS (ROSA; Red Hat Openshift Service on AWS) for testing and quality purposes, such that we could utilize a managed cluster for a windowed period to avoid overhead cost of such a managed cluster when not utilized. The cluster was integrated automatically with on-prem Hardware Security Modules, as well as relevant Cryptomathic services running on EC2 instances.Lastly the job consisted in coordinate and implement tooling that allows the product development teams to work more agile and efficiently with their build pipelines and infrastructure. This was done by maintain develop and test the multiple existing Jenkins platforms and custom toolings for in-house development. Among others jenkins shared library for queued allocation of internal Hardware Security Modules for testing towards individuals or team. Additionally preparing containerization of runtime environments such that they could be encapsulated and moved to the shared Jenkins platform.
