The project operates in partnership with the JCP module from the University of Pretoria, and has grown significantly since its inception in 2015, accommodating around 200 JCP students in 2021.The project is designed to offer mentoring and assistance to high school students struggling with Mathematics, Accounting, and Physical Sciences. JCP students from the University of Pretoria serve as peer-to-peer mentors and tutors to the learners, who come from all over South Africa.The project is typically structured as a competition, with several schools selected to participate in a five-day program. During this period, the learners receive 40 hours of varsity community work, with university students providing mentoring and tutoring. In recent years, we have adopted a hybrid approach, offering both online and in-person sessions.To assess the learners' progress, we begin with an introductory test to evaluate their understanding, and then offer targeted assistance based on their individual needs. Finally, we administer a final test to evaluate their improvements. Through this project, we hope to inspire and empower the next generation of South African leaders by offering them the academic support and mentorship they need to succeed. Show less
